BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery)

The BDS program is designed to impart comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in dental science. Students undergo rigorous training to become proficient in diagnosing, preventing, and treating dental and oral health issues. Our curriculum is structured to meet international standards and is delivered by experienced faculty members who are experts in their respective fields.

Affiliated Boards

The BDS program at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Medical College is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka, ensuring that our graduates receive recognition and accreditation in the field of dentistry. Our affiliation with these boards reflects our commitment to maintaining the highest educational standards.


The BDS program is a 5-year undergraduate course, including a 1-year mandatory internship. The comprehensive curriculum covers both theoretical and practical aspects of dental science, preparing students for a successful career in dentistry.

Student intake per year

We admit a limited number of students each year to ensure personalized attention and quality education. Currently, our annual student intake for the BDS program is 100.

Admission Procedure

Allocation of seats for the program is as follows: 35% of seats are reserved for government allocation, 45% for private government allocation, and 20% for management allocation. The seat distribution is conducted through an online counseling process overseen by the Karnataka Examination Authority (
