About The Event

The keynote speakers were Mr. Syed Tafjit Ulla, The deputy superintendent of Excise Department and Mr. Raghavendra PG, Inspector of Excise.

Mr. Syed began with a brief overview on the different types of drugs and drug abuse. The effects of drug abuse was explained with the display of a few informative videos. Legal aspects and the role of Narcotics Control Bureau and the Excise Department were specified. The speaker touched on Government campaigns like Nasha Mukt Bharat and provisions of rehabilitation centres. Finally the different roles of stakeholders in society were elaborated. How teachers, parents, medical professionals and peers can observe the early signs and take the steps needed to curb the problem at the earliest was emphasised upon.
