About The Event
In a concerted effort to combat stigma and promote early diagnosis, the Department of Dermatology at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Medical College (BRAMC), Bengaluru, recently organized a Leprosy Awareness Campaign on 27/01/2026 at Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Medical College and Hospital in association with Bangalore Dermatological Society on the occasion of World Leprosy day.
The campaign utilized a mix of creative arts and clinical information to engage both the student body and the visiting public.
Dermatology residents took center stage with a powerful skit performance. By portraying real-life scenarios, the residents successfully:
• Debunked common myths surrounding the transmission of the disease.
• Highlighted the psychological impact of social isolation on patients.
• Demonstrated the importance of seeking medical help at the first sign of symptoms rather than resorting to traditional or unverified remedies.
